The Oscars honor abuse survivors.

The impact of trauma and abuse was center stage at last night’s Oscars.

Vice President Joe Biden asked the audience to take the pledge: “The pledge says I will intervene in situations where consent has not or cannot be given. Let’s change the culture, we must and we can change the culture.” Vice President Biden introduced Lady Gaga’s tribute to rape survivors and performance of her Oscar-nominated song “Til it Happens to You” from the documentary “The Hunting Ground” regarding sexual assault on college campuses.
