The Child Advocacy Center would like to thank Project Linus for its recent delivery of beautiful blankets.
The blankets help children at the CAC feel more comfortable and reduce their stress. They bring their new blankets home as a reminder that there are many people who care about them and their safety!
Last year, the CAC served nearly 400 children who were referred for suspicion of being abused, witnessing violence, or being trafficked. At the Center we see children of all ages. One-third of the children we serve are under the age of seven. One in four is 13 or older. We find that children of all ages find these blankets to be a significant source of comfort.

The goal at Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth, and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteers, known as “blanketeers.”
The blanketeers provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18. It is Project Linus’ policy to accept blankets of all sizes, depending on local chapter needs. All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be homemade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons.
Rarely a month goes by that Project Linus is not featured in a national magazine or program. Parade, People, Reader’s Digest, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Quiltmaker, Quilters Newsletter, Guidepost, Parents Magazine, Real Simple, Woman’s Day and many others have helped to spur interest. You may have seen or heard segments about Project Linus on the NBC Nightly News, Today Show, or even your local newscasts.
